Episode 2 Visual Dictionary Yoda information

Posted: April 21, 2002
Category: Attack of the Clones

Tomorrow, the Episode 2 Visual Dictionary officially hits stores. Here's some of the information you can expect to find about Yoda inside:

YODA
The wise Yoda is the sole member of the Jedi Council to recognize the present danger of Jedi complacency. Yoda sees that, in all these troubled times, the greatest challenge may come from within the system itself. Even at his advanced age and with his formidable reputation and responsibilities, Yoda still trains young initiates. His students are taught to take nothing for granted and to keep their minds open to every possibility, avoiding the pitfalls of overconfidence.

Hidden Strengths
Yoda's capabilities with the Force give him amazing strength and speed, as well as (highlight for possible spoilers) the ability to levitate. These special powers, combined with his knowledge of fighting tactics, allow him to overcome virtually any opponent, though times are few indeed that Yoda has actually used his lightsaber in combat. (end of spoilers)

Data File
* More than 9,000 fully trained Jedi are scattered throughout the galaxy, with a further 200 available at the Jedi Temple for emergency missions.
* Yoda has never revealed his homeworld, and his species is rarely seen anywhere in the galaxy.

Obi-Wan Kenobi has grown close to Yoda since the death of Kenobi's Jedi Master, Qui-Gon Jinn. Facing a difficulty in his current assignment, Obi-Wan does not hesitate to consult with his wise friend and colleague, who in turn uses the opportunity as an exercise for his young Jedi initiates.

- Sensitive ears compliment Yoda's habit of listening more than talking
- Hand gestures help focus mental use of the Force
- Simple robe is a sincere expression of humility, despite Yoda's great power and reputation

It looks like I'll have to buy this while on my shopping spree tomorrow!
